Are you looking for cost effective ways to build brand awareness?
Is your brand missing out in yachting press reviews and gear tests?
Do you feel you could get more out of your sponsorship investments?
If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions I can help.
PR is much more than just writing press releases, although those are important too! PR is about your external relationships. It can include setting up partnerships, supporting good causes or working a sponsorship project hard.
Marine PR services:
- Public relations
- Press releases & media information
- Partnership management
- Sponsorship activation
- Sponsorship propositions
Throughout my career, which started in a PR agency, I have used public relations and sponsorship to cost effectively build and promote brands, events and campaigns.
PR was central to my strategy to build clothing company Gill’s brand profile, on what was a shoestring budget. Since then, I have managed the PR and communications for a variety of marine brands, ocean races and sailing teams.
Clients work with me because:
I write about products and projects with authenticity, for the sailor as well as from the perspective of a brand. And I know what copy journalists need too.
In my racing and professional career I have been a sponsored sailor, a rights holder and a sponsor. So I have seen what can go wrong as well as what works well from all sides.
My MBA dissertation was on effective sponsorship activation in yachting. A spin off from this was doing a thorough business review and strategy of the Pindar Group’s yacht racing sponsorships. Subsequently, I researched the effectiveness of over 30 yachting sponsors programmes culminating in writing ‘The Business of Yacht Racing’ for Sport Business. And through my client work I have run numerous successful activation campaigns too.
So when it comes to setting up and running an effective marine PR or sponsorship programme, I’m a great person to have on board.
Call me for a chat about how PR and sponsorship can help raise your brand awareness.
As I said to you at METS, it’s so useful having efficient contacts like you, when dealing with new gear and reviews all the time.

Please see the amazing work Liz has done in getting the woman’s lifestyle range placed in surfgirlmag. Great lifestyle piece and a nice move into the ‘made for water’ space and a little break from the hardcore and extreme sailing world! Brilliant work Liz.
