The future of UK sailing article and interview with Yachting Monthly

The topic of the Future of Sailing and Pay as You go Sailing made it to the Southampton Boat Show today.  Watch the video interview with host Jo Pickard.

Having been involved in writing the feature on The Future of UK Sailing in this October’s issue of Yachting Monthly, we had the opportunity to discuss the topic on stage at the Show. The article is well worth a read to understand the background of how social and consumer changes will change participation in sailing.  Here’s a quick intro to the article from Theo Stocker, the Editor.

One of the key challenges is to reduce the number of barriers potentially preventing people getting afloat, such as having to own a boat, join a club etc. Hence, Yachting Monthly also covers the topic of ‘Instant Sailing’ and making it easier to get afloat.
